In centuries past, Titans - monstrous humanoids with a taste for human flesh - nearly wiped out humanity. The surviving humans cowered behind massive concentric walls for protection, but the Titans' insatiable hunger for human meat meant that peace was always uncertain. For one hundred years, there were no encounters with the Titans, but this precarious peace was broken when a colossal Titan breached the outer wall, throwing humanity back into chaos. Eren Yeager, having suffered a personal tragedy at the hands of the Titans, vowed to dedicate his life to their destruction. He enlisted in the Survey Corps, an elite military unit tasked with battling the Titans outside the walls. Together with his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman and childhood friend Armin Arlert, Eren fights in a brutal war to find a way to defeat the Titans before they breach the final walls and humanity is eradicated for good.
